Anthropic’s draft IPO prospectus, filed on September 29, 2026, contains a warning that runaway artificial intelligence could end humanity within a decade, according to Ars Technica.
The document also reveals the company recorded an operating loss of more than $8 billion last year while revenue rose 12‑fold to almost $4.6 billion. Revenue in the second quarter reached $11.5 billion, putting the firm on track for a second consecutive quarter of adjusted operating profit.
CEO Dario Amodei told the UN Security Council that AI is “the most important global security issue facing the world today,” and has called for “pacing the frontier” of AI development. OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Elon Musk backed these calls for industry cooperation.
Anthropic declined comment on the filing. The prospectus also notes deals with Google, SpaceX and other partners to secure computing power.
