Amazon’s Echo smart‑speaker range has seen a significant price increase in August 2026, according to a Mashable roundup of the devices. The Echo Dot, previously $49.99, now costs $79.99, while the larger Echo Show 21 jumps from $399.99 to $499.99. The price hikes are part of a broader trend affecting Amazon hardware amid a global memory shortage, the article notes.
All Echo models reviewed are compatible with the newly launched Alexa+, an AI‑powered enhancement that adds extra features to the familiar voice assistant. The roundup lists the price changes for each Echo variant, from the Echo Dot to the Echo Show 15 and beyond, and highlights the new AI capabilities that come with Alexa+.
While the price increases may deter some buyers, the article points out that Amazon’s devices often go on sale during events such as Prime Day and Black Friday. Readers are encouraged to wait for these sales to secure better deals.
