JetBrains’ 2026 Developer Ecosystem Survey, carried out between May and July, indicates that nine out of ten professional developers now use AI coding agents at work at least once a week, Gulf News reported.
Speaking to Gulf News ahead of the AI Everything Abu Dhabi conference, Nadia Rinsky, Head of GTM MENA at JetBrains, said the focus is shifting from speed to safety, stressing that “generating more code does not automatically make an engineering organisation more efficient.” She added that companies must decide which AI agents can access their code, where data may flow, and which changes require human approval.
JetBrains will showcase JetBrains Air at the event – a system that lets developers delegate tasks to agents such as Claude Agent, Codex and Junie, while retaining oversight through inspection, testing, debugging and review. Rinsky noted that the UAE’s growing AI adoption creates opportunities to embed agents into existing workflows.
