Max Verstappen set the fastest lap in first practice for the rearranged Bahrain Grand Prix, now being held at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit, according to the Independent.
What happened
In Friday's opening session, Verstappen recorded a time 0.383 seconds quicker than George Russell’s Mercedes. Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar was third, about eight tenths off Russell, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc placed fourth within a second of the Dutch driver. Lewis Hamilton was sixth, ahead of Alpine’s Pierre Gasly. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were 11th and 12th respectively. The second practice session is scheduled for 16:00 local time (09:00 BST).
