UAE motorists could face higher fuel prices in October after Brent crude hovered around $105 a barrel throughout September, Gulf News reported on September 29.
September retail prices were Dh3.80 per litre for Super 98, Dh3.69 for Special 95, Dh3.61 for E‑Plus 91 and Dh4.30 for diesel. To match June’s peak of Dh3.95 for Super 98, a 15‑fils increase (about 3.9%) would be needed, while Special 95 would require a 14‑fils rise and E‑Plus a 15‑fils rise.
The article notes that a 10‑fils‑per‑litre increase would add Dh6 to a 60‑litre fill and Dh8 to an 80‑litre fill, while a 20‑fils rise would add Dh12 and Dh16 respectively.
Saudi Arabia’s reported restart of the East‑West Pipeline could ease some pressure on global prices, but Bloomberg said European customers will not receive oil allocations through the route in October, limiting the impact.
