Dubai’s former Lamcy Plaza, now rebranded as The Plaza, is expected to reopen in the first half of 2027, a spokesperson for the mall told Gulf News. The asset‑management firm Azure Properties is overseeing the project, and the mall is tentatively set to open sometime between January and June 2027, though no exact date has been confirmed.

Lamcy Plaza originally opened in Oud Metha in 1997 and was one of the city’s earliest community malls, featuring four floors, two cinemas, a hypermarket and a food court. Recent months have seen exterior renovation work, but details on new tenants, layout or facilities have not yet been released. Former shoppers are awaiting news on whether popular features such as the rope‑climbing clown will return.
