The new EAH‑A1000 headphones debut in Tokyo, building on Technics' 2025 AZ100 earbuds and a 40 mm magnetic fluid driver.

Technics introduced its EAH‑A1000 flagship wireless active‑noise‑cancelling headphones at a showcase in Tokyo, Japan, on 29 September 2026, according to PopSci.
The over‑ear model costs $1,199 and incorporates a proprietary 40 mm Magnetic Fluid Driver, an evolution of the driver used in the 2025 AZ100 true‑wireless earbuds. Technics says the driver, combined with a new diaphragm material and a symmetrical edge design borrowed from its SB‑R1 speaker, aims to deliver “precision and feeling.”
PopSci notes the EAH‑A1000 follows the 2022 EAH‑A800 and the 2025 AZ100, expanding the magnetic‑fluid technology from a 10 mm earbud driver to a larger over‑ear format, a process the engineers described as “much harder than just making it bigger.”
The launch event took place in the offices of Panasonic, Technics’ parent company, where the brand’s history was displayed, including its 1965 founding and the suspension of the line in 2010 before its recent revival.
