Spirit Halloween, the largest Halloween retailer in North America, published its 2026 costume trend report on Oct. 1, according to the New York Post. Executive vice president Kym Sarkos said the company monitors entertainment, gaming and social media all year to anticipate consumer demand.

The report groups upcoming looks into three buckets: “The hyped and the hot,” “Myth, lore and high fantasy,” and “Chaos, horror and pixelated madness.” In the first group, the outlet expects classic licensed jerseys, varsity jackets and iconic Toy Story characters such as Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Slinky Dog to be popular, along with Spider‑Man apparel.

Among the “high fantasy” picks, Greek‑inspired armor from movies like The Odyssey is highlighted, while the “chaos” category points to viral internet horror themes, new‑school cinema titles like Obsession, and classic slashers. Video‑game fans may gravitate toward Fortnite and Halo costumes, and the K‑Pop‑inspired “Demon Hunters” line is also slated for strong sales.
