Shakira’s 12‑concert residency at the temporary Estadio Shakira in Madrid, running from Sept. 18 to Oct. 11, included a surprise guest appearance by Italian singer Laura Pausini on Sept. 20, according to Billboard.
What happened
The residency began with two shows without guest performers. On the third night, Pausini joined Shakira to sing the 1995 classic “Antología,” a song Shakira originally recorded with her band Pies Descalzos.
What the reports add
Billboard notes that the residency draws about 55,000 attendees per night and that Shakira has added a new song, “Te Dejo Madrid,” to the setlist. The outlet also recalls that the tour was earlier recognized by Guinness World Records as the highest‑grossing tour by a Hispanic artist, with $421.6 million earned.
What was said
“I don’t know if it showed on the big screen, but her eyes were filled with tears,” Pausini said, adding a joke about Shakira’s album title before the duet, Billboard reported.
