The Baltimore Ravens sent their chief medical officer and head trainer to the Philadelphia Eagles’ training facility on Wednesday to clear offensive lineman Cam Jurgens, according to ESPN. The move came after the league’s recent Maxx Crosby trade collapse, which failed a physical and prompted the Ravens to tighten their trade protocols, Sportskeeda reported.

Adam Schefter told Sportskeeda that the Ravens and Eagles had planned for Jurgens to undergo a physical in Philadelphia before finalizing the deal. After doctors confirmed Jurgens passed the exam that Crosby had failed, both teams completed the trade.

Fans on X reacted with mixed humor and criticism. One user wrote, "Ravens really learned their lesson after that Crosby mess," while another joked, "At this point maybe teams should have the players pass the physicals before the trade offer is sent. 😂" Additional comments noted the growing influence of medical staff in trade decisions.

Jurgens, a 2022 second‑round pick who helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LIX and earn two Pro Bowl nods, signed a new contract in 2025 before moving to Baltimore. He is expected to fill a gap left by injured centers, though he is currently in concussion protocol with his Week 5 status uncertain.
