Qualcomm's chief marketing officer responded on X on Oct. 16, denying a Korean outlet's report that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra would face thermal throttling with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

According to the outlet, internal Samsung tests showed the Snapdragon running too hot, while the Exynos 2700 performed normally. Qualcomm said the rumors are inaccurate, emphasizing that OEMs fine‑tune platforms and that the SoC has no systemic thermal problems.

The CMO added that Qualcomm has not yet tested a device with the chip, but noted the chipset’s high clock speeds – two Prime cores at 5.0 GHz and six Performance cores at 4.0 GHz – could challenge passive cooling solutions.
