Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua expects to play against Eagles despite recent injury

Nacua, back from a hip injury, says he’s “smiling” about the chance to suit up for the Eagles matchup.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is on track to play Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after missing the last two contests with a hip injury, the Los Angeles Times reported on Oct. 1.

Nacua participated in a limited capacity on Thursday’s practice after returning to the field in a reduced role on Wednesday. He said, “It’s exciting… that’s my safe space out there, and to be out there with the guys, I think that’s been the most important thing, feeling that camaraderie and then also the ability to put my foot in the ground.” He added, “I can’t think of anything else but smiling,” when asked what the upcoming game means to him.

The Rams’ record sits at 1‑2 after a loss to the Denver Broncos, a game that also left defensive lineman Aaron Donald dealing with a back issue that kept him out of practice. Donald, a three‑time NFL Defensive Player of the Year who ended a two‑year retirement in late August, has not practiced this week, and his availability for the Eagles game remains unclear.

Defensive coordinator Chris Shula praised Donald, saying, “Aaron’s been awesome… I think he’s really elevated that whole group.” With edge rusher Myles Garrett also sidelined, the Rams could line up without either Hall of Famer for the first time this season.
