Open Chair urges advertising firms to volunteer as safety allies for Loeries Creative Week
The Open Chair board seeks volunteers to wear #OnMyWatch shirts and help prevent harassment at the upcoming industry event.
By Felo News Desk · Published
On 5 Oct 2026, Open Chair sent a request to the advertising and marketing industry ahead of Loeries Creative Week, asking firms to provide at least two‑thirds of volunteers – both male and female – to serve as Safety Allies at the event’s parties.
Volunteers will wear an Open Chair #OnMyWatch T‑shirt or bib and monitor behaviour, reporting harassment, bullying, coercion or aggression to security and assisting anyone in an uncomfortable situation. The role does not replace security staff, and volunteers are expected to abstain from alcohol while on duty.
Open Chair says the initiative aims to create a visible, caring presence and to foster personal accountability across the industry. Interested parties should email Ntsoaki (ntsoaki@loeries.com) or Suhana (suhanagordhan@gmail.com) with names and contact details.
