Lando Norris claimed the fastest lap in the final practice session for the Mexico City Grand Prix, edging Kimi Antonelli by just 0.001 seconds, according to the Independent.
Antonelli, the 20‑year‑old who is set to become the youngest world champion this weekend, was only a thousandth of a second slower. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc topped Friday’s qualifying and traded times with Lewis Hamilton early on Saturday before both fell back on soft tyres. Norris finished ahead of Antonelli, while Leclerc was a tenth of a second slower in third place, followed by Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri.
Max Verstappen finished sixth, a place behind Hamilton, after receiving a one‑place grid drop for colliding with Liam Lawson during Friday’s second practice. Verstappen called the incident “not smart” for Lawson, as reported by the Independent.
Isack Hadjar received a formal warning from the FIA after shoving a fan who attempted a selfie, with the governing body describing the fan’s approach as “uninvited and rather aggressive”.
Haas announced that Esteban Ocon was replaced for the remainder of the weekend by Ryo Hirakawa, offering no explanation. Ocon will leave Haas at season’s end and has no confirmed seat for next year.
