Mubadala Bio, the UAE's national pharmaceutical manufacturer, announced the launch of two biologic treatments – adalimumab and ustekinumab – through its BioVenture Healthcare facility on 7 October 2026. Both medicines are prescription‑only and target immune‑mediated diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis and non‑infectious uveitis.

Adalimumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks tumour necrosis factor, while ustekinumab inhibits interleukins 12 and 23. The rollout aims to broaden access to advanced therapies in the UAE and reinforce the country's role as a pharmaceutical hub.

Dr Esam Mohamed, CEO of Mubadala Bio, said the addition reflects the firm’s effort to broaden specialised treatment options. Deputy CEO Hamad Al Marzouqi added that the expanded portfolio demonstrates progress in localising innovative medicines.
