McDonald’s announced that it will soon roll out a new MyMcDonald’s Rewards programme, a tiered loyalty system that will offer customers integrated rewards with partners such as Uber and Disney+. The change was revealed during the company’s recent investor call, where global chief marketing officer Morgan Flatley explained the goal of giving customers a reason to reconsider the brand and deepen relationships through more value, convenience and access.

Flatley said the new programme will place customers into tiers based on how active they are, giving early access to limited‑time menu items and exclusive invites to store openings. The tiered structure is part of a broader push by fast‑food chains to modernise loyalty programmes, following similar moves by Starbucks, Chipotle and Domino’s this year.

McDonald’s is not the only brand to overhaul its rewards platform in 2026. Starbucks launched customer tiers in March, while Chipotle introduced a system that keeps points from expiring if a qualifying purchase is made at least once a year. Domino’s added a new website and app in August, offering $5‑off coupons to users who completed a survey.

Industry analysts note that a strategic rewards programme can increase customer loyalty when paired with targeted promotions and offers. Upside, a cash‑back app, highlighted that loyalty programmes are effective at lifting repeat visits and recommendations, but weaker at growing total spend, suggesting the new McDonald’s programme aims to influence future dining decisions.
