Auston Matthews scored with 14 seconds left in overtime and added three assists in regulation as the Toronto Maple Leafs erased a three‑goal deficit to beat the Nashville Predators 5‑4 on Tuesday night, the Associated Press reported.

Toronto trailed 3‑0 after Nashville’s Steven Stamkos opened scoring on a power play at 7:13 of the first period and Nils Hoglander extended the lead at 9:08. The Predators made it 3‑0 again at 3:03 of the second period. Toronto responded when John Tavares scored at 4:56 of the third, William Nylander assisted at 6:58 to make it 3‑2, and Stammos restored a two‑goal lead at 13:30. One minute later, rookie Gavin McKenna scored his first NHL goal, and Jack Roslovic tied the game at 8:54 of the third. Matthews’ overtime strike sealed the win.

Stamkos scored his second goal, moving into 17th on the NHL career‑goals list, while he also became the third active player with 100 game‑opening goals. The Leafs head to Vegas on Thursday; the Predators travel to Montreal.
