Jamie Carragher urges stripping of Manchester City titles after financial breach ruling
Carragher says the club’s honours should be taken away and owners ousted following a commission’s finding of overstated revenue.

Former England defender Jamie Carragher has called for Manchester City to be stripped of their recent trophies and for the club’s owners to be removed after an independent commission ruled the club overstated revenue by more than £830 million.
The commission, appointed after a four‑year investigation covering 2009‑2018, concluded City used “sham contracts” with commercial partners, inflating income over eight seasons. City, currently leading the Premier League, have until 2 October to appeal the decision.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Carragher said, “I do think Manchester City's titles they've won in this time, or trophies, should be taken off their list.” He added that the club’s actions have robbed players of the feeling of earning medals and called for executives responsible to be ousted.
City chief executive Ferran Soriano dismissed the findings as a “Premier League conspiracy theory” in a message to staff, and the club confirmed it will appeal the ruling.
