Liverpool recorded their first home Premier League win of the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, beating Brighton 2-0 at Anfield, according to the Independent.

Alexander Isak opened the scoring in the 21st minute after a cross from Bradley Barcola, although the goal was officially credited to Florian Wirtz because the ball deflected off Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross before finding Isak. Four minutes later Isak doubled Liverpool's lead, again from a Barcola cross, marking his sixth goal in seven league appearances.

Brighton struggled to create clear chances, with Yasin Ayari missing an early opportunity and right‑back Ferdi Kadioglu forced off after six minutes due to injury. On‑loan Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo contributed defensively, clearing a shot from Maxim De Cuyper and later heading away a cross that led to Wirtz’s involvement in the first goal.

The victory was Liverpool’s fourth win in a row across all competitions and their third league win in four matches, lifting them to fourth place in the table, six points behind leaders Manchester City and Arsenal. Brighton, who have been among the league’s highest‑scoring sides, failed to score for the first time in over nine hours of competition.
