Dylan Larkin scored in his first game since publicly requesting a trade, helping the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Ottawa Senators 5-3 on Tuesday night, Oct. 6, 2026, according to the Associated Press.

Larkin was initially booed by the home crowd when he touched the puck on his first shift, but the boos turned to cheers after he scored in the 13th minute, giving Detroit a lead it never relinquished. Alex DeBrincat opened the scoring at 3:16 of the first period and later added a power‑play empty‑net goal with 50 seconds left in the third. Viktor Arvidsson and Justin Faulk also scored for Detroit, while goaltender John Gibson made 22 saves.

For Ottawa, Drake Batherson, Tim Stutzle and William Eklund each recorded a goal. Samuel Ersson back‑stopped the Senators with 31 saves after replacing injured starter Linus Ullmark, who did not dress. The Senators called up Jonas Johansson from the AHL as backup, and Ridly Greig made his season debut, adding an assist.
