Jeremy Allen White admits nerves about playing Jeff Horwitz at The Social Reckoning premiere
The actor said his recent biopic work made him uneasy about another real‑person role.

Jeremy Allen White told The Independent at the London premiere of Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning on 29 September that he felt "really nervous" about playing Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, a role that follows his recent portrayal of Bruce Springsteen in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
White said the pressure of embodying a living figure, especially after the "paralysing" experience of playing Springsteen, made him question whether to take on another real‑person part. He explained that he told Sorkin he was unsure about the responsibility of the role, but the writer‑director encouraged him to craft his own interpretation of Horwitz.
The film, which also stars Mikey Madison as Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, dramatises the 2021 Facebook whistleblower leak and the ensuing legal battles. White's comments were made during the film's gala screening in London.
