Page Six cites The Hollywood Reporter as confirming that Callum Turner and Jack Lowden have been selected as finalists for the next James Bond and will undergo screen tests this weekend.

What happened

At least four actors have received test offers, according to the report. Turner and Lowden are confirmed to test, and insiders say "The Crown" actor Josh O’Connor is also expected to participate. The identity of a fourth contender has not been disclosed, and sources suggest up to five actors could be tested.

What the reports add

The article notes that Jacob Elordi, who was in talks in the spring, will not be testing, and Jack O’Connell has also been ruled out of the finalist pool. Page Six reached out to Amazon for comment but received no response.

What was said

During an Associated Press interview, Saoirse Ronan, Jack Lowden’s wife, was asked about the rumors. Page Six quoted her as saying, “We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we? Because they have picked him. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet.”

How it came about

Amazon MGM Studios acquired the creative rights to the 007 franchise in 2025, and Denis Villeneuve will direct the upcoming film, as reported earlier by Felo News (James Bond screen‑tests slated for London). Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson continue to oversee the series, while the studio has not released an official age range for the new Bond.
