The Comfort Manufacturing Co. made this Individual Chemical Prophylactic Pack, or “Pro-Kit.” During World War II, the Army Medical Department issued this kit to American soldiers to prevent sexually transmitted infections. The kit included a soap-impregnated cloth for washing the genitals and an ointment (30% calomel and 15% sulfathiazole) in a tube to inject into the urethra.
