Hyderabad police arrest friend in OYO hotel murder
The suspect confessed to killing the Visakhapatnam native after she pressured him to marry.

Hyderabad police said they have arrested Srinivas Raviteja, a friend of the victim, in connection with the murder of Sharon Nikitha Topno at an OYO hotel in Madhapur.
The victim and the accused checked into a room in Siddiqui Nagar on 21 September, and the police allege the man killed her that night. He reportedly told hotel staff the woman had become unconscious and later moved her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
Forensic investigators collected bloodstains and other evidence from the room. After the killing, the accused returned to his native village in Anakapalli district and attempted suicide the following day, receiving treatment at KGH Hospital in Visakhapatnam before being taken into custody.
Police have registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the BNS and plan to produce the suspect before a court for remand.
