HBO has premiered an eight‑episode drama titled War, centered on the multi‑million‑dollar divorce of movie star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller) and tech magnate Morgan Henderson (Dominic West). The series debuted on 2 October 2026, according to Independent.

What happened

The opening episode establishes a ten‑year marriage strained by distance and resentment. Carla, a struggling A‑list actress, initiates the conflict by honey‑trapping Morgan to gather evidence of infidelity. She then hires the boutique firm Taylor & Byrne, run by a husband‑and‑wife team, while Morgan retains the legacy firm Cathcarts. The two firms engage in aggressive, behind‑the‑scenes legal maneuvers that drive the season’s tension.

What the reports add

Independent notes that the show mirrors the tone of Succession, featuring corporate espionage, billions of dollars at stake, and a cast that includes Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird and Nina Sosanya. The review highlights the series’ world‑building, noting that viewers spend only a few minutes with each character before the plot weaves them together.

What was said

The article quotes the reviewer’s personal endorsement: “Consider this my hard sell for making War your next binge‑watch.” No other on‑screen dialogue or external commentary is provided.

How it came about

HBO positioned War as its most ambitious drama since Succession, aiming to capture audiences hungry for elite‑business intrigue.
