Halle Berry’s ex‑husband secures restraining order alleging child abuse

Olivier Martinez, Halle Berry’s former husband, was granted a temporary restraining order on 1 October that also covers their 12‑year‑old son, Maceo, according to court documents seen by People and reported by The Independent.
In his petition, Martinez claimed Berry caused him “emotional and mental distress due to physical abuse of our minor child, Maceo” and described an incident in which Berry allegedly grabbed Maceo by the neck, shouted “Who is dominant now? Who is dominant?” and began choking him.
Berry’s lawyer Marina Beck described the filing as “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading,” adding that Berry is accustomed to “outrageous conduct” from Martinez and will continue to fight for Maceo’s best interests.
Martinez’s attorney Patrick Baghdaserians said his client’s “paramount concern is the health, welfare and safety of the minor child” and urged that Berry receive appropriate help.
The judge modified Berry’s visitation schedule to Mondays and Tuesdays 10 am‑8 pm and weekends 10 am‑8 pm, but denied Martinez’s request for sobriety monitoring, citing insufficient information. A hearing on the restraining order is set for 16 October.
