Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola said the club expects centre‑back Giovanni Leoni to re‑join first‑team training during the extended autumn international break.

Iraola told reporters before Liverpool’s win over Ipswich that the plan is for Leoni to start training around October 12, after missing a full year with injury. The Athletic has reported the same date, adding that Leoni’s return will strengthen Liverpool’s central defence.

In the meantime, loan signing Ronald Araujo has settled at right‑back, helping the Reds keep three consecutive clean sheets, while new signing Jeremy Jacquet has impressed both at club level and for France, earning praise from France manager Zinedine Zidane.
