FNB and WesBank have confirmed a second‑year sponsorship of the On The Road Podcast, a platform that highlights challenges faced by South African road‑freight entrepreneurs, fleet owners and small‑medium enterprises.
The show, hosted by Florence Musundwa – convenor of the Road Freight SME Summit – now boasts more than 7,100 YouTube subscribers and 30,000 TikTok followers, up from roughly 800 and 2,700 respectively when the sponsorship began. In the 28‑day period ending 5 October 2026, the YouTube channel logged over 18,500 views and about 1,600 hours of watch time, with nearly 58 % of viewers not subscribed to the channel.
South African viewers account for about 65 % of the audience, while the remainder watch from Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Kenya. Episodes cover cash‑flow, pricing, finance access, fuel costs, fleet management, procurement, regulation, cross‑border trade, rail reform, last‑mile delivery and courier opportunities. Guests have included representatives from the Road Freight Association, African Women in Supply Chain Association, Supply Chain Council SA and Africa Rail Industries Association.
Musundwa said the renewed partnership links the banks to a platform discussing financial and operational pressures such as fuel expenses, fleet costs and working capital. She added that the podcast’s growth reflects a demand for honest conversations about running a transport business.
