Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), the UAE’s biggest Islamic bank by assets, announced that gross revenue for the first nine months of 2026 increased 7% year‑on‑year to Dh18.6 billion, according to Gulf News.

The bank reported operating revenue of Dh9.9 billion, up 3%, and operating profit before impairment charges of Dh7.1 billion, up 4%. Profit before tax reached Dh6.6 billion and profit after tax Dh5.6 billion. Total assets rose 3% to Dh427 billion, while net financing assets grew nearly 10% to Dh287.1 billion. Customer deposits increased 1% to Dh323.5 billion. The non‑performing financing ratio improved to 2.4%, and capital ratios strengthened, with CET1 at 13.4% and CAR at 16.5%.
What the reports add
Gulf News highlighted that the bank’s cost of risk fell to 25 basis points for the period. Chairman Fadhel Abdulbaqi Al Ali linked the results to disciplined execution and an improving risk profile. He also stressed the bank’s focus on customer service, innovation and the broader potential of Islamic finance.
What was said
Chairman Fadhel Abdulbaqi Al Ali told Gulf News, “DIB’s continued progress is underpinned by strong institutional foundations, a clear strategic direction and the trust it has earned from customers and stakeholders over more than five decades.” He added, “Our priorities are clear: to place customers at the centre of everything we do, continuously enhance our products and services, and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence.”
Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Adnan Chilwan said, “Our results for the first nine months of 2026 reflect a defining characteristic of DIB’s DNA: the consistency with which we execute our strategy and translate our priorities into tangible progress.”
How it came about
DIB’s performance follows a strategic push announced in earlier Felo coverage on the growth of Islamic finance in the UAE, where the sector’s expansion was linked to technology adoption and regulatory support. The bank’s emphasis on AI‑driven services aligns with broader regional trends toward digital banking, as reported in Felo’s recent analysis of fintech adoption in the Gulf.
