Franco Colapinto urges Argentine fans to curb online abuse of Lando Norris

The Argentine driver acknowledges fan abuse and appeals for improvement before the Malaysia race.

Franco Colapinto said Argentine supporters must curb online abuse of Lando Norris after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix collision that forced all three drivers to retire.

Colapinto, who will start five places back in Malaysia due to a grid penalty, admitted Argentine fans can be "bad" on social media but urged them to improve. He told the Baku media pen that abusive comments often come from passionate fans worldwide, not only from Argentina.

He recalled Norris’s reaction, noting the British driver called for a ban on drivers causing such crashes and later apologised for his remarks. Colapinto also referenced an Argentine politician’s criticism of Norris after a separate incident in Canada.

"My message is always the same: they sometimes don't realise what you can create by writing on your keyboard," Colapinto said, adding that drivers try to address the issue themselves.
