Carrick says he needs no reassurance ahead of United’s Champions League tie in Como
United face a Champions League trip to Como with seven players unavailable, while Carrick insists winning is the only answer.

Manchester United manager Michael Carring told a pre‑match news conference in Italy that he does not need any reassurance from the club hierarchy, stressing that winning games is the only way to settle speculation about his future. The comments came before United travel to Como for a Champions League tie on Wednesday.
United have won only two of their ten matches across all competitions this season and are enduring their worst top‑flight start in four decades. An injury list now includes Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford, Benjamin Sesko, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven, all of whom will miss the Como fixture.
Martínez had started a recent 1‑1 draw at Leeds but was forced off at half‑time and will sit out the European match. Carrick, appointed permanently in May after an interim spell, said, “I know we’ve got to win football games for everything to flow… I don’t need any reassurance.”
