Right‑wing presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro said his campaign will release his personal records if President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expands his own pledge to disclose the data of his advisers, security staff and companies owned by Lula’s children, Al Jazeera reported on Oct. 22.
Lula announced on Tuesday that he would share his bank, tax and telephone records, as well as those of his family, provided Bolsonaro agrees to the same terms. Lula’s campaign submitted a conditional authorisation to Brazil’s electoral court and said a formal response would be filed on Thursday morning, according to campaign senator Camilo Santana.
The exchange comes amid investigations into both candidates. Bolsonaro is under probe for alleged corruption and money‑laundering linked to a failed investment with disgraced banker Daniel Vorcão, while Lula’s son Fabio Luis faces separate allegations of illicit government access.
