Standard Chartered says Binance hack could accelerate shift to Uniswap

Geoffrey Kendrick argues the Binance breach will push investors toward Uniswap and raise its long‑term outlook.

Standard Chartered’s global head of digital assets research, Geoffrey Kendrick, told Cointelegraph that the recent Binance hack could speed up a move from centralized exchanges to decentralized platforms such as Uniswap.

Kendrick said the breach should raise the DEX‑to‑CEX trading ratio, noting that the top‑10 spot DEX‑to‑CEX ratio was 23.5% in Q2 2026, up 2.1 points from Q1. He encouraged investors to re‑engage with Uniswap, keeping his $100 price target for UNI through 2030, and suggesting the hack may make that forecast too low.

Cointelegraph reported that crypto markets fell after the hack, with Binance’s BNB down more than 8% and Uniswap’s UNI down 10.4% to $6.48. Kendrick warned that further negative price action is likely in the near term, and that a clearer market base will emerge only after assets are unfrozen and more details of the hack are known.
