AP EAGLE chief urges students to reject drugs at university walkathon

Vijayawada – AP EAGLE chief and IGP Aake Ravikrishna addressed participants at the Grand Walkathon‑2026 on Friday, urging students to resist peer pressure and stay away from drugs.
The 15‑km walk, organized by Chalapathi University to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, started on campus and finished at the Dhyana Buddha statue in Amaravathi. More than 1,500 students, faculty, youth and EAGLE officials took part under the slogan “Walk for Peace – Stand Against Drugs”.
Ravikrishna cited two cases of students whose lives were ruined by addiction, noting that one is now serving a sentence in Visakhapatnam Central Jail. He appealed for reports of drug activity to the AP EAGLE helpline 1972, promising confidentiality.
