Dubai – Amitabh Bachchan, 83, injured his left knee after slipping and falling during the shoot of the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, Gulf News reported on 30 September.
Bachchan, who normally delivers the show’s opening monologue standing at centre stage, moved to his seat and explained, “Usually, I do my monologue standing at the centre, but today, I have a knee injury. Yesterday, during the shoot, I slipped and fell and injured my knee.” He added that the injury was not serious but caused “a little bit of difficulty standing up”.
Despite the injury, the veteran actor said he would still stand to host the contestants later in the episode. The audience wished him a speedy recovery.
The incident follows Bachchan’s recent blog post reflecting on his relationship with son Abhishek Bachchan, in which he wrote about parental and generational differences and mutual respect.
Bachchan’s upcoming projects include the courtroom drama Section 84, the sci‑fi sequel Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and a possible involvement in Aankhen 2, according to reports.
