Telles says a brief chat with Ronaldo sealed his three‑week move to Al‑Nassr, where they won the Arab Champions Cup in their first month together.

Former Al‑Nassr defender Alex Telles told Sportskeeda that a phone call with Cristiano Ronaldo prompted his transfer to the Saudi club in the summer of 2023.
What happened
Telles, now playing for Botafogo after leaving Al‑Nassr in 2024, recalled that his agent warned him of a possible reunion with his former Manchester United teammate. He said he messaged Ronaldo offering to join, and after a brief exchange the deal was finalised within about 20 days.
What the reports add
According to the outlet, Telles and Ronaldo then won the Arab Champions Cup in their first month together, with Telles featuring in 44 matches and scoring three goals across competitions during his sole season at the club.
What was said
"If you want some crosses there, I'm coming," Telles quoted himself saying to Ronaldo, adding that Ronaldo replied, "Call me," and later told him, "If it were up to me, you'd come here, and we'd win."
How it came about
The move followed Telles' stint with the "Knights of Najd" and preceded his 2024 transfer to Botafogo. His recollection links to Felo's earlier coverage of Ronaldo’s Saudi career, including the Arab Champions Cup victory.
