Ajay Devgn told Variety that the upcoming Hindi film Drishyam 3: The Conclusion will surpass its predecessors and close the franchise definitively.

What happened

Speaking at the FICCI-Frames Indian media industry conference in Mumbai, Devgn said he watched the finished film on Tuesday with trusted companions and felt confident about its quality. He noted the film releases on 2 October 2026 and follows directly from Drishyam 2, with no time jump for his character Vijay Salgaonkar.

What the reports add

Variety reported that Devgn described the plot’s twists as “unpredictable” even for genre‑savvy audiences and that the writer‑director Abhishek Pathak and his team kept the story gripping throughout. The outlet also detailed the franchise’s origins, noting the 2013 Malayalam original by Jeethu Joseph and its various Indian language remakes, as well as the 2021 Malayalam sequel and the 2022 Hindi sequel.

What was said

"You will not be able to guess," Devgn said, adding that the twists and turns are "a lot, and they are unexpected."

He also said the character has become calmer and more prepared in the third film.

How it came about

Devgn’s comments follow Panorama Studios’ recent announcement that it will develop Korean, Spanish and English adaptations of the franchise while limiting new Indian‑language versions to Hindi.
