The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced that the 10th edition of the Mother of the Nation (MOTN) Festival will run from 28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, offering over five weeks of family entertainment across Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
What happened
The World of Wonder edition introduces three new themed zones in Abu Dhabi City – Melting Aurora for younger children, Beyond the Sky for teens and young adults, and the Golden Hour for all ages. The festival will operate at Al Mugheirah Bay (Al Dhafra) and Al Jahili Park (Al Ain) from 28 Nov to 2 Dec, then move to the Abu Dhabi Corniche from 9 Dec to 3 Jan.
What the reports add
Gulf News notes that the Golden Hour will showcase first‑to‑Abu Dhabi food concepts, viral food trends, A‑list performances and curated retail experiences, while the other zones focus on rides, gaming and live music from local and international artists.
What was said
Gulf News quoted the festival’s organiser Brag, saying the event will bring “creative, playful, and full of thrilling surprises” attractions and bring back family favourites alongside new experiences.
How it came about
The festival follows Abu Dhabi’s recent push for family‑friendly initiatives, such as the Cities for Families Framework unveiled in early October and the city’s broader livability vision highlighted in September.
